Baseball Recap: Central Has No Trouble Against East Longmeadow

Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt East Longmeadow on Friday. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Longmeadow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will challenge Minnechaug Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Longmeadow, they will venture away from home to square off against West Springfield at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
