Baseball Recap: Maine East Takes a Loss

Maine East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Niles North Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Demons of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Maine East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Slamowitz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Maine East's record is now 2-19. As for Niles North, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-16-1 record this season.

While Maine East had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
