Basketball Recap: Goochland Comes Up Short

Goochland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 43-17.

Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech found their leader in freshman Fern Powell, who posted 11 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Powell has scored at least a third of Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech's points. Another player making a difference was Cydney McKoy, who had no points and eight boards.

Goochland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech, they pushed their record up to 8-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Goochland nor Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech have any future games scheduled.
