The George Wythe Maroons are taking a road trip to challenge the Fort Chiswell Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. George Wythe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

George Wythe is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Auburn on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

George Wythe's goal came courtesy of Brandon Kidd, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Chiswell didn't have quite enough to beat Galax on Monday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Fort Chiswell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Galax are ranked 18th).

Fort Chiswell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. George Wythe's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-1.

George Wythe skirted past Fort Chiswell 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Maroons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
