Basketball Recap: Forest Park's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Forest Park entered their tilt with Dunbar on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Dunbar Poets 49-29. That's more bragging rights for the Foresters, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Forest Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MCKENZIE FITZGERALD, who posted eight points along with six assists and six steals. FITZGERALD is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was MYLA DORSEY, who had ten points and six boards.

Forest Park's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.8 points over those games. As for Dunbar, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Coming up, Forest Park will look to defend their home court on February 21st against Academy for College and Career Exploration at 3:45 p.m. As for Dunbar, they will head out on the road to face off against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
