Baseball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Wasatch Wasps

Timpview is 0-4 against Wasatch since May of 2024 but things could change on Monday. The Thunderbirds will venture away from home to take on the Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Timpview was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Emery, sneaking past 7-6.

Timpview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nixon Haering, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Joel Rivero also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Wasatch got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Thursday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wasps, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lincoln's batters probably weren't too happy with Jack Salmon, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up four walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Royal Matthews, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Austin Brown was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Timpview now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Wasatch, their record now sits at 8-4.

Timpview suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Wasatch in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
