Softball Game Preview: McNairy Central Bobcats vs. Milan Bulldogs

The McNairy Central Bobcats will face off against the Milan Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. McNairy Central will be strutting in after a victory while Milan will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, McNairy Central earned an 11-8 win over Kossuth. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Bailee Shelton made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Shelton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Carlee Shelton was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Callie Finlayson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Milan finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to Camden Central. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Milan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Hensley, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Hensley hit this season.

With the defeat, Milan broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.2 runs. As for McNairy Central, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
