Baseball Game Preview: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Fort Lupton Bluedevils are taking a road trip to square off against the Frederick Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fort Lupton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Fort Lupton got the win against Arrupe Jesuit by a conclusive 16-2. The game marked the Bluedevils' most dominant victory of the season.

Jesse Ceretto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Fort Lupton: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 3-5 otherwise. Ceretto was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most triples he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Ivan Mota was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Rhoda, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Fort Lupton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arrupe Jesuit struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Frederick earned a 9-6 win over Monarch on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Preston Kissinger tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Frederick let Bryson Satterly and Dom LeFevre run wild. Satterly scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while LeFevre scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Danny Thompson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Frederick's record is now 6-7. As for Fort Lupton, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
