Baseball Game Preview: Pewaukee Pirates vs. St. Thomas More Cavaliers

Pewaukee is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while St. Thomas More is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pirates will welcome the Cavaliers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pewaukee 3.7, St. Thomas More 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Pewaukee was able to grind out a solid win over Catholic Memorial, taking the game 9-4.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas More made easy work of Shoreland Lutheran on Thursday and carried off a 16-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Alivo was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carson Weist, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

St. Thomas More always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shoreland Lutheran only posted an OBP of .333.

Pewaukee's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for St. Thomas More, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Pewaukee skirted past St. Thomas More 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
