It's playoff time, and East Canton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Harding Skippers with a sharp 46-26 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Canton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dillon Anderson, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 32 yards and one touchdown. Owen McCroskey was another key passer, throwing for 184 yards and one TD while completing 73.7% of his passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something East Canton proved: they limited Harding to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Anderson for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in September.

East Canton's defense didn't let Brady Lawson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Maverick Campbell was especially locked on to Harding's QB and sacked him twice. The game marked Campbell's first with multiple sacks this season.

Despite the loss, Harding had strong showings from Yomar Castellano, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one score, and Lawson, who threw for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.

The victory was the sixth in a row for East Canton, bringing their record up to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Harding, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Coming up, East Canton will face off against Mogadore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hornets 13.7, the Wildcats 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Harding does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
