Baseball Game Preview: Friendship Golden Eagles vs. Mount Morris Blue Devils

The Friendship Golden Eagles will challenge the Mount Morris Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Friendship hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Friendship's offense. They lost 10-0 to Hinsdale Central on Thursday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Morris). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over Hinsdale Central on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Thomas Schmeider was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Mount Morris' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Friendship, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
