Softball Recap: Rushford-Peterson Comes Up Short

Rushford-Peterson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Houston Hurricanes. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Rushford-Peterson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Torryn Schneider, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Schneider has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Brielle Schneider also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Rushford-Peterson's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Houston, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Rushford-Peterson will challenge Lewiston-Altura at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Houston, they will square off against Southland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
