Football Game Preview: South Grand Prairie Warriors vs. Bowie Volunteers + Official Tickets

The South Grand Prairie Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Bowie Volunteers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Grand Prairie comes in on eight and Bowie on six.

South Grand Prairie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Haltom, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Warriors put the hurt on the Buffalos with a sharp 30-6 win on Friday. The 30-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

A big part of South Grand Prairie's victory came down to the chemistry between Daylon Brooks and his top target Cade Wallace. Brooks threw for 247 yards and three TDs while completing 93.3% of his passes while Wallace gained 190 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Wallace a new career-high in receiving yards (129). Cash Clark was another key player, picking up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bowie beat Lamar 45-38 on Thursday.

South Grand Prairie better keep an eye on Jayden Bibbs. He was instrumental in Bowie's win, throwing for 211 yards and three TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 71 yards. Deontae Tennison II was in the mix too, providing the Volunteers with two scores.

Bowie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

South Grand Prairie's record is now 8-0. As for Bowie, their record now sits at 7-2.

The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. South Grand Prairie has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 232.5 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Bowie has preferred to attack from the air: they average 319.4 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Thursday? There's only one way to find out.
