Tintic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Green River Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Miners have posted against the Pirates since October 30, 2015.

Tintic never let Green River on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 27-25, 25-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tintic will venture away from home to challenge Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Green River, they will head out to face off against Bryce Valley at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
