Soccer Recap: Wissahickon Takes a Loss

After soaring to six goals the game before, Wissahickon was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Abington Galloping Ghosts. While losing is never fun, Wissahickon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Abington are ranked 18th).

Wissahickon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-3. As for Abington, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Wissahickon will head out to take on Quakertown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wissahickon will be up against Quakertown's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.67 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Abington, they will venture away from home to challenge Plymouth Whitemarsh at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
