Softball Game Preview: Richmond Bobcats vs. Forest Hills Tigers

Richmond is 9-1 against Forest Hills since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. Richmond has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Richmond made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carrabec, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats fell just short of the Cobras by a score of 16-14 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (ten), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Aubrey Swift was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Swift was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Valley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Hooper, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Vinalhaven on Tuesday, taking the game 5-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Richmond and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Forest Hills, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
