Basketball Recap: Amelia Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Fuqua

Amelia Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 58-19 loss at the hands of the Fuqua Falcons. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the defeat, Amelia Academy had strong showings from Harper Garza, who posted three points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks, and Kate Poore, who put up no points.

Fuqua has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Amelia Academy and Fuqua will both be playing Grace Christian School the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will host them at 4:00 p.m. on December 1.
