Volleyball Game Preview: R-S Central Hilltoppers vs. West Caldwell Warriors

The R-S Central Hilltoppers will face off against the West Caldwell Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. R-S Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, R-S Central earned a 3-1 win over East Rutherford.

R-S Central found their leader in sophomore Abby Austin, who had 14 digs. Another player making a difference was Olivia Harris, who had nine digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, West Caldwell hadn't done well against Hibriten recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since August 26th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-105) West Caldwell actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 18-25, 17-15.

West Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for R-S Central, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

R-S Central took their win against West Caldwell when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Hilltoppers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
