Softball Recap: Jay Royals vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins
Jay won the last time they faced Gulf Breeze and things went their way on Friday too. The Royals skirted past the Dolphins 3-2. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Royals have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Layna Lowry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mylee Frazier was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
Jay hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Jay's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Gulf Breeze, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
Looking ahead, Jay will host Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gulf Breeze, they will head out on the road to square off against Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dolphins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
