Softball Recap: Tuscarora Triumphs

Tuscarora's game on April 3rd was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Millbrook Pioneers. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won three in a row.

Peyton Travis looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Claire Chamberlin, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Wools, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Tuscarora was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Tuscarora back to even at 3-3. As for Millbrook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscarora will venture away from home to challenge Heritage at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millbrook, they will take on Fauquier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
