Baseball Recap: Somerset Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Somerset Academy can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Monsignor Pace Spartans. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kareem Amer looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Matthew Fari?as was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Jon Mora was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Somerset Academy's record is now 9-13. As for Monsignor Pace, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy will host Hialeah at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monsignor Pace, they will welcome Stoneman Douglas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
