Football Recap: Clayton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Owen-Withee

Clayton faced Owen-Withee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bears had to suffer through a 68-34 loss at the hands of the Blackhawks. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Clayton still got an impressive performance from Dayne Mumm, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 118 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Mumm is now averaging an impressive 104.3 rushing yards per game.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Owen-Withee, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
