Football Game Preview: Minden Crimson Tide vs. Wossman Wildcats + How To Watch

The Minden Crimson Tide will take on the Wossman Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Minden's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Southwood 42-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Crimson Tide needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Minden's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caylien Aubrey, who rushed for 33 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 72 receiving yards and one touchdown. Aubrey really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Minden also got help from Jaden Johnson, who showed off his sure hands for 124 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Minden proved: they limited Southwood to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. The Crimson Tide didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.6.

Meanwhile, Wossman was able to grind out a solid victory over Peabody on Friday, taking the game 29-20. The Wildcats pushed the score to 29-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warhorses cut but never quite recovered from.

Wossman's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Daniel Whitlock and Demarion Price, who racked up five sacks between them. Price has become a key player for Wossman: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one sack, but 3-4 otherwise. Ryan Wilson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Minden's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average over those games. As for Wossman, the win also got them back to even at 5-5.

Minden ended up a good deal behind Wossman in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, losing 26-11. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
