Preview: Elkhorn North vs. Scottsbluff Bearcats
Two dominant backs in Jett Tingelhoff and Sebastien Boyle are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Elkhorn North will be playing at home against the Scottsbluff Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Elkhorn North will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Elkhorn North earned a 31-21 win over Elkhorn.
Tingelhoff and Johnny Ferguson were among the main playmakers for Elkhorn North as the former rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Tingelhoff's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Scottsbluff aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to three. They didn't even let York onto the board and left with a 14-0 victory.
Scottsbluff's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Kelley led the charge by rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Their wins bumped Elkhorn North to 9-1 and Scottsbluff to 6-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Elkhorn North has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Scottsbluff struggles in that department as they've been even better at 297.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
