Baseball Recap: Temple City Comes Up Short

Temple City had lost seven straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-16-1 to make it eight. They fell just short of the La Canada Spartans by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in March.

As for La Canada, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For La Canada's part, the team relied heavily on Finn Flowerhogan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits Flowerhogan has posted since back in April.

While Temple City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
