Basketball Game Preview: Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers vs. Pender Pendragons

The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Pender Pendragons on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pender will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Bancroft-Rosalie extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Panthers blew past West Monona 83-53. That looming 83-53 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Bancroft-Rosalie can attribute much of their success to Jaden Browning, who went 13-for-21 to rack up 36 points and five assists, and Braylon Wegner, who shot 60% from beyond the arc en route to 23 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Browning's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Arian Marrufo, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Bancroft-Rosalie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pender, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Stanton 64-16. The Pendragons haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bancroft-Rosalie's record now sits at 4-1. As for Pender, their record is now 6-1.

Bancroft-Rosalie came out on top in a nail-biter against Pender in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 50-47. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Pendragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
