Volleyball Recap: Olean Extends Winning Streak to Three

Olean had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Fredonia Hillbillies by a score of 3-1. The Huskies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hillbillies, too.

Olean had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-10, 25-10, 25-23.

Haylie Bednarski paced Olean's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bednarski got some help from Ariana Finch and her 32 assists. Finch was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Olean's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Fredonia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Olean will take on rival Southwestern at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Fredonia is set to face off against their familiar foe Portville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
