Preview: Rutherford Rams vs. Mosley Dolphins
Rutherford has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mosley Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rutherford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Mosley is ranked 18th).
Last Saturday, Rutherford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Mainland.
Rutherford's loss came about despite a quality game from Shakirah Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Edwards' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ava Butler, who scored 8 points along with 3 blocks.
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last match, Mosley made sure to put some points up on the board against Franklin County on Wednesday. Mosley simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Franklin County 56-21 on the road.
Rutherford's win bumped their season record to 2-1 while Mainland's defeat dropped theirs to 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Rutherford against Mosley in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 77-12 win. Does Rutherford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mosley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
