League recap: Leflore County rises in state rank

3A Region 3 recap September 24, 2013

Leflore County moved up to 166 from 197 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region 3. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Gentry 30-12.

O'Bannon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating West Tallahatchie, 24-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Ruleville Central's Markevion Quinn and Anthony Spivey have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Quinn has thrown for 528 yards this season, while Spivey, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 14 catches for 272 yards. Centarus Washington from O'Bannon leads the league in rushing with 480 yards.

Leflore County led 3A Region 3 in scoring this week after putting up 30 points on the Rams.
