Football Recap: Center Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Center extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the Monte Vista Pirates 55-0. The Vikings lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 79-0 score last time.

As for Monte Vista, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. That 55 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Monte Vista found their leader in sophomore Manny Jiron, who threw for 58 yards and two touchdowns. Jiron's superb passer rating of 177.1 also marked a new season-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Center will challenge rival Centauri at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monte Vista is set to take on their familiar foe Del Norte at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
