Basketball Recap: Boyertown Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Cooper Rath and Trey Kern

On Saturday, the Boyertown Bears ended up a good deal behind the Wyomissing Spartans and lost 65-49. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Spartans are ranked 148th).

Trey Kern and Cooper Rath certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Kern posted 14 points and five boards, while Rath had ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Benedetto, who earned seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Boyertown and nudges their season record down to 4-14. As for Wyomissing, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Boyertown has already played their next game (against Perkiomen Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wyomissing has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Schuylkill Valley.
