Soccer Game Preview: Live Oak vs. Gridley

The Live Oak Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Gridley Bulldogs on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Live Oak took on Corning on Tuesday. Live Oak came up short against Corning, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 554th, while the Cardinals are ranked 257th).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gridley's offense. They fell just short of Las Plumas by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Gridley's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-2-1. As for Live Oak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6-2.
