Basketball Recap: Marsing Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jace Chadez and Juan Ponce

Marsing was the 47-45 winner over New Plymouth when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marsing Huskies fell 59-49 to the New Plymouth Pilgrims on Tuesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marsing's loss came despite strong showings from Juan Ponce and Jace Chadez. Ponce posted 26 points and three steals, while Chadez scored 19 points and five steals. Chadez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dresden Wood, who earned four points and eight boards.

Marsing's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for New Plymouth, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Marsing has already played their next match, an 87-51 loss against The Ambrose School on the 23rd. As for New Plymouth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-45 victory against Parma on the 23rd.
