Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hillcrest can now relate to. They came up short against the Poteet Pirates on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 2nd.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest saw an underclassman step up: freshman Resse Kim had 12 digs.

Hillcrest moved to 23-12-1 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-match winning streak. As for Poteet, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-12 record this season.

Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poteet, they will square off against Ellison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
