Basketball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Fort Dorchester Patriots

Two dominant guards in Gavin Ward and Maricious Dawson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The James Island Trojans will be playing at home against the Fort Dorchester Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. James Island is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, James Island beat Summerville 51-46.

Meanwhile, Fort Dorchester played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 72-49 to West Ashley. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

James Island has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Fort Dorchester, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

James Island didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fort Dorchester in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory.
