Football Recap: Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders vs. St. Anthony's Friars        
        
		
             Archbishop Stepinac was the  56-35 winner over St. Anthony when they last played one another  back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders were dealt  a  35-6 loss at the hands of the St. Anthony's Friars on Friday. The  defeat leaves the Crusaders without a win on the season.
 Archbishop Stepinac wouldn't let St. Anthony's keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Archbishop Stepinac can thank  Troy Baker Jr. and  Elias Murray for forcing both of them.
 St. Anthony's had a senior duo take command as  Gary Merrill threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes and  Will Hart picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 120  receiving yards set a new season-high mark for  Hart.
 Archbishop Stepinac's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Anthony's, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Stepinac will challenge Chaminade at 1:30  p.m.  on Sunday. Chaminade's defense has only allowed 12.5  points per game  this season, so Archbishop Stepinac's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Anthony's, they will head out to  face off against Iona Prep  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. That  game will pit two of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Julian Guzman and  Merrill.
