Baseball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Mountain last Thursday, Washington came back down to earth. The Rams fell 10-6 to the Sierra Linda Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Rylan Evans was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Evans was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Washington: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Richard Welch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sierra Linda, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
