Basketball Game Preview: Adams Cougars vs. Wilson Wildcats

Adams is 0-10 against Wilson since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Adams Cougars challenge the Wilson Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Adams is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poteet. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1241st, while the Pirates are ranked 508th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Darius McDonald, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points. Victor Offord was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Wilson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 70-58 to Seagoville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Wilson's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-15. As for Adams, their loss dropped their record down to 6-22.

Adams took a serious blow against Wilson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 92-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wilson's Noah Armstrong, who went 8 for 14 en route to 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that Adams knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
