Baseball Recap: Pembroke Hill Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pembroke Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Warrensburg Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Jack Passan and Eli Sitzer did most of the damage at the plate: Passan went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Sitzer went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pembroke Hill pushed their record up to 19-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Warrensburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-15.

Coming up, Pembroke Hill will head out to face off against Van Horn at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.68 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Warrensburg, they will challenge Russellville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
