Basketball Recap: South Point Red Raiders vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers

South Point easily dispatched North Gaston last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The South Point Red Raiders fell just short of the Kings Mountain Mountaineers by a score of 65-63 on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-57 back in December of 2024.

Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaishawn Woods, who went 9 for 18 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. OB Lowery Jr. was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 20 points and four steals.

It was another big night for Kee'Donn Linney, who posted 25 points for Kings Mountain. That makes it three consecutive games in which Linney has scored at least a third of Kings Mountain's points. Another player making a difference was J'Myun Huskey, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
