League recap: Garcia overpowering for Mission Oak in past week

East Yosemite league recap: 3/27/13

Mission Oak's Austin Garcia was the best pitcher in East Yosemite this week. Over the past week, he had one win and 14 Ks.

Tulare Western had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Mustangs beat Central Valley Christian 20-6, Ridgeview 9-2 and East Bakersfield 10-0.

Tulare Western boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Noah Salazar, who hit .667 by going 2-for-3.

Garcia led the Hawks to a win on March 25, as he notched 12 strikeouts to beat the Blades, 5-4. Over seven innings of work, he gave up four hits and four runs.



Erik Gastelum was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in five runs during Tulare Union's 14-9 win over Redwood. He went 3-for-4 and scored one run.
