Baseball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Comes Up Short

Lafayette Jefferson and McCutcheon squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lafayette Jefferson had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 7-6. The Bronchos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Leyton Corbin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Pickering, who went 2-for-6 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lafayette Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for McCutcheon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Lafayette Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McCutcheon, they will take on Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
