Recap: Jackson-Reed Tigers vs. Dunbar Crimson Tide
After a string of five wins, the Jackson-Reed Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 48-33 bruising from Dunbar. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jackson-Reed has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Jackson-Reed saw an underclassman step up: Aminyah Muhammed scored eight points along with ten rebounds. Muhammed is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Jackson-Reed's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Dunbar, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Jackson-Reed is on the road again on Wednesday and play against O'Neal at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. O'Neal knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Jackson-Reed likes a good challenge. Dunbar will be home for the holidays to greet St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Andrew's Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday.
