Softball Game Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. Aquinas Institute Little Irish

The Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders will take on the Aquinas Institute Little Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmyra-Macedon will be strutting in after a victory while Aquinas Institute will be coming in after a defeat.

Palmyra-Macedon will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Midlakes, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Red Raiders blew past the Screaming Eagles 13-7 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Raiders considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Seager Emerick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Addi Gendron was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elianna Rouland, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Aquinas Institute suffered their biggest loss since May 9, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Bishop Kearney, falling 13-2. The Little Irish have struggled against the Kings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Aquinas Institute saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Whipple, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Palmyra-Macedon's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Aquinas Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
