Perham put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Staples-Motley Cardinals with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Ashton Detloff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Blume, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Perham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Staples-Motley only managed one hit.

Perham's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.6 runs this season. As for Staples-Motley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3-1.

Perham will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
