Volleyball Recap: Haynes Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Haynes Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Port Allen Pelicans as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but Haynes Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Haynes Academy took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-4, 25-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Haynes Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marilyn Voitier, who had 14 kills, six aces, and three digs. Voitier has been hot for a while, having posted seven or more kills the last 70 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Feehan, who had six digs and six aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Haynes Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.

Haynes Academy's record now sits at 28-6. As for Port Allen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.

As of now, neither Haynes Academy nor Port Allen have any future games scheduled.
