Baseball Recap: Williams Bay Comes Up Short

Williams Bay had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-13 to make it 12. They lost 14-0 to the Parkview Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-2 loss on Thursday.

As for Parkview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Parkview's part, they let Kase Hazeltine and Owen Moffit run wild. Hazeltine went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Moffit got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Hazeltine a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathias Treinen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Williams Bay will host Johnson Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Parkview, they will venture away from home to challenge Deerfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
