Basketball Recap: Yukon Takes a Loss

Yukon suffered their biggest loss since January 17th on Friday. They were dealt a 71-32 defeat at the hands of the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs. The Millers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

It was another big night for Janiyah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards for Edmond Memorial. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times she's played. Avery Hjelmstad was another key player, putting up 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Yukon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Edmond Memorial, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Yukon has already played their next match (against Stillwater), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Edmond Memorial, they will challenge Southmoore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Edmond Memorial's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Southmoore has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
