Brunswick extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Heze Kent. The Brunswick Pirates managed a 60-54 win over the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers on Friday thanks in part to Kent, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

McIntosh County Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Craig Battle, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mj Quarterman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Brunswick pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for McIntosh County Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Brunswick will venture away from home to square off against Effingham County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Effingham County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Brunswick likes a good challenge. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will welcome Jenkins County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McIntosh County Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 76 points per game this season.
