Basketball Recap: Shepherd Comes Up Short

Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Tarkington Longhorns 72-36. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

Despite the defeat, Shepherd saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden White dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. White is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played.

Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Tarkington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hamshire-Fannett the next time they take the court. Shepherd will host Hamshire-Fannett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tarkington will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
